Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) provides environmental sustainability research & consulting services and tools with particular regard to Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Eco-design and environmental communication such as Environmental and Sustainability Product Declarations (EPD and SPD).

The activities started in 1993 with a Ph.D. research of founding members in environmental LCA and sustainability at Polytechnic University of Torino, Italy. Actually, LCE is a well-known, fully independent,  research & consulting company in Europe for LCA, eco-design and environmental communications solutions.

Since the early nineties, LCE supports the European Commission-DG ENV during the development/revision of different Eco-label criteria and for their diffusion in Europe. By now this experience involved floor coverings, bed mattresses, graphic paper and footwear product groups. LCE has also worked in a UNDP project in Cyprus and with the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) in Kenya.

Important activities are also implementation of environmental management systems according to ISO 14001, safety management systems according to OHSAS 18001 and ISO 22000 standards. LCE undertakes as well educational activities in LCA and eco-design, regularly offering company seminars and higher education for Master Degree Courses (post lauream).

LCE is represented by Gian Luca Baldo in the International Journal of Life Cycle Assessment Editorial Board (since the journal establishment).
